Not much in the way of presents. I'm at age where I buy the gifts for others and buy myself what I want on behalf of everybody.
With some clever use of resources and finances I managed to upgrade my transformer TIG to an inverter welder. With the cash leftover I bought a front contact wheel for a new three wheel linisher project and a new drill press vice.
Speaking of drill press, got a deal I could not resist on a large radial arm drill. Which led to the purchase of 36m of recycled 40mm square tubing for benches, stand for the drill press, linisher frame and hydraulic tube bend former. Supplier of recycled metal also had lots of stainless tube and I purchased 45m of various sized tubing from 1" to 2" in size at near metal recycle weight costs.
My brother did gift me his old digital camera which will help keep my soul from the netherworld from swearing so much about the battery use of the old one. That should make photo documenting some projects a breeze this year.
Does not sound like much but I am definitely happy. |

Nice,
My parents got me a nice digi camera and a 4 gig stick to go with it. Now I can take pics of my projects and post them here(once I learn this internet picture thingy) _________________ as i lay in bed, i looked at the stars and though, where the heck is my ceiling? |

No presents for me.
But I did borrow a bunch of money ( ) to buy a new CNC Plasma Cutting table.
Be on the lookout of pics of it in action towards the end of this month.

Caught hint of that on the other forum. Looking forward to the classic Coolhand-style writeup.
Nothing much here to report on though I'm looking forward to giving my liver a rest and start working off the holiday lard soon. Most of the steel for stands and benches have been marked up and cut leaving me to weld and fit. Still can't quite make up my mind on the layout for the welder cabinet. The linisher and bend former will take a little time to plan out though.
With the new benches comissioned I will be able to pull some grinders out of storage. All in need of cleaning and reconditioning. |
