Could you possible increase the amount of time that the site cookie remembers you for. I'm mostly a troll here but I check pretty regularly and I usually only look for new posts. Sometimes I get logged out because the remember me cookie has expired it seems like the board has gone completely dead rather than it's usual plodding pace until I realize that I've been logged out and need to log-in to find all the unread posts I've missed. I only ask because it seems to happen much more here than most forums I visit.

Hmmmmm . . . .

I'll check that when I get home from work tonight.

It's likely just a setting that's never been increased from the phpBB default.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

It's set to the longest interval possible under this BB software.

9999 seconds or 2.78 hours

That's as good as it gets.

Sorry man, that's the best I can do.

That's weird. Must be a different setting somewhere. Might not even be easy to access because the "remember me" login certainly lasts longer than that. Oh well. Thanks for looking.

You might want to check that you don't have an overly aggressive spyware or adware remover on your computer that is killing the cookie. I've gone quite a while on some computers without checking in here and not gotten logged out.

That's the weird part. I go months on most other sites. Here and PBJunkie are the only sites that I've noticed that I have to regularly login to despite being a regular visitor. The major difference there being that if I'm not logged in at PBJunkie the login box is at the top of the page. Here there's no indication. I go much longer between visits at PBjunkie than here. This forum just annoys me because I get tool envy.

You know, now that you mention that, I've gone several months without logging either in or out here on this computer, and it always remembers me.

I dunno man, at this point we've surpassed the extent of my nerd.

I'll poke around on phpBB's official forums, but unless I run onto something randomly, I'd say this is a problem I'm not going to be able to fix.

Sorry.

i believe its your environment Grivooga, I run a few phpBB sites as well as visit much more and rarely have the logout issue. Usually it's after clearing cookie (or using a 3rd party tool that clears them without my knowledge).

I would check from that train of thought, are you deleting your cookies? or is there a 3rd party app doing it, or even a different user of your computer who could be playing around with your settings?
